Duties
Some of the main duties for this role are: Read blueprints and engineering plans; fabricate metal objects involving laying out, fitting, measuring and welding; inspect and test welds of the equipment; keep current with welding and fabrication techniques, tools and equipment.
Essential Functions
Ability to use a variety of tools and equipment; basic math skills and mechanical aptitude, ability to read blue prints and recognize welding symbols and specifications; knowledge of safety practices and welding processes such as TIG, MIG and ARC; proficient metal cutting using oxy-acetylene and plasma operations; identify materials or equipment that will need protections before welding, grinding or fabrication commence, knowledge of equipment like shear, press, ironworker, drill press, saws, etc.
Applicants are required to hold a valid driver’s license, pass a drug and background test, possess welding certifications and obtain and maintain a CDL; provide basic fabrication tools and have a 3 year of experience minimum.
